Detailed Description

Originally a 3-Litre, this car underwent a remarkable transformation overseen by J.C. Konig and engineer John Guppy, resulting in the creation of an impressive 8-Litre model. The journey of innovation and improvement continued until it found its current owners, Vic Smith and Stanley Mann, in 1986.

During the 1980s, this car enjoyed significant success on the competition circuit, achieving victories at prestigious events such as the Bentley Drivers Club and VSCC races.

Crafted by Williams and Pritchard, this car features an impeccable aluminum and steel tube frame construction complemented by stunning paintwork. Its authentic racing persona is further enhanced by fitted wings, Brookland's screens, and a racing head cowl.

The interior is equally impressive, with well-preserved green leather bucket seats adorned with meticulous leather lacing. The aluminum dash houses all essential gauges, and there is ample storage space behind the seats for added convenience.

What truly sets this Bentley apart is its exceptional handling. Equipped with a Laystall crankshaft, 8.0:1 compression, tubular con-rods, fabricated exhaust manifold, and other performance-enhancing modifications, it delivers a thrilling driving experience.

This car also holds a remarkable record in the annals of racing history. Stanley Mann achieved incredible feats, including covering 5 Miles Flying Start in just 2 minutes and 12.97 seconds and completing 10 Kilometers Flying Start in 2 minutes and 45.56 seconds, both at an average speed of over 135 mph.

Impressive speed is an understatement, with this car achieving an average speed of 115.53 mph over 100 miles, 115.64 mph in a 1-hour run, and completing 200km in 1 hour, 4 minutes, and 42 seconds at an average speed of 115.26 mph.

At Brooklands Action Day in 1996, Stanley pushed the Bentley to a remarkable speed of 148 mph.

This Bentley's transformation from a 3-Litre to an 8-Litre under the guidance of J.C. Konig and engineer John Guppy is truly remarkable. Its success in competitions during the 1980s, record-breaking achievements, exceptional craftsmanship, and outstanding performance make it a rare and coveted British racing car, perfect for prestigious events like the Goodwood Members Meeting and continental rallies.

In excellent running condition, this Bentley is ready to participate in historic motorsport events, making it an exceptional choice for those seeking a dependable and high-performance pre-war car.
